La edición 2014 de los Premios Oscar de la Academia de Cine de Hollywood ha sido quizás una de las menos sorprendentes en cuanto a resultados. Las quinielas previas prácticamente acertaron todos los ganadores. Ni más, ni menos. Así Gravity, pese a perder la estatuilla a la Mejor Película frente a 12 años de esclavitud fue la ganadora absoluta con 7 premios de 10 candidaturas.
Las grandes perdedoras fueron: La Gran Estafa americana, que optaba a 10 Oscar y no se llevó ningún premio; Capitán Phillips, 0 de 6; Nebraska, 0 de 6; El Lobo de Wall Street, 0 de 5; y Philomena, 0 de 4. Aunque solo estar nominado, ya es mucho decir.
El largometraje de animación Frozen, se alzó con el reconocimiento a la Mejor Película en su categoría, logrando también el Premio a la Mejor Canción Original, y consiguiendo así los 2 galardones a los que optaba. El Gran Gastby también logró 2 de 2.
